Cloud ERP to score goals on and off the pitch
Paysandu, founded in Belém (PA) on 2 February 1914, has one of the largest fan bases in Brazil and is the biggest champion in Amazonia, with 56 conquests. The tradition of more than a century of history, however, hasn’t stopped the club from evolving: in recent years, PSC has realised that, in order to continue writing a history full of victories, it needed to prepare itself off the pitch as well. That’s when the club’s leadership opted to call in reinforcements and switch to technology.
The aim was to add more performance, speed and security to administrative and financial processes, and thus to seek increasingly promising results while the ball was still in play.
In 2021, in partnership with Wevy, Paysandu began integrating and modernising its processes with Sankhya ERP cloud support. Aiming to become the most technological club in Brazil, the team is proof that technology has everything to do with football.

Paysandu: Tradition vs. Technology
Tradition stands out at Paysandu. For more than a century, the entire city of Belém has cheered on the team that has collected curiosities, titles and surprising stories throughout its history.
Paysandu, for example, has the fastest goal in the world among professional teams. The club is also one of the few in Brazil to have beaten Boca Juniors at La Bomboñera. Not even the dreaded Peñarol of the 1960s escaped the Papão: in 1965, the Uruguayan team left Curuzu defeated 3-0, with the Bicolores ending their opponents’ unbeaten run.
The passion for PSC is long-standing, but new experiences are always being thought up and provided for fans both inside and outside the stadium. And technology plays a fundamental role in this.
“Today, all the stadium’s administrative, financial and operational processes are working better, because we’ve realised that without technology, we can’t move forward,” evaluates the CEO of Paysandu, André Barbosa Alves, on the gains from implementing the ERP and the cloud migration with Wevy.
He also emphasises that, with the technological movement, information reaches the hands of the club president more quickly, which has made important decisions possible. “The game closes in a day and everything is quickly ready to report,” emphasises the CEO.
Paysandu and the ERP cloud
The implementation of the ERP itself was the club’s turning point in terms of technology. Implementing the system reduced operational bottlenecks, eliminated rework and minimised errors.
Now, with the system in the cloud, it’s possible to control everything from anywhere and the integration between areas is the main benefit observed. “Finance and accounting have started to communicate instantly, which was not the case before,” recalls Bruno Ferreira, Paysandu’s IT Manager.
Cloud for more speed, security and performance
Paysandu sought increasingly robust solutions to meet internal demands. The implementation of ERP Sankhya, hosted in Wevy’s approved cloud, was a milestone in the professionalisation of operations.
“What was most impressive about migrating to the cloud was the speed, which is comparable to a local server,” says Ferreira. He highlights the adoption of the cloud system as a kind of ‘Eureka moment’ in the digitisation of the club’s processes.
The search for performance was another determining factor in migrating to the cloud. “It used to take an analyst around 10 minutes to extract a report from the system on a local server. Today, this report is practically instantaneous,” emphasises Ferreira, stressing the benefits of technology in management.

The expert also says that migrating to the cloud with Wevy was the best decision: “The other companies we evaluated didn’t meet all our needs.” Among the main differentials of the partnership, Bruno emphasises that the cloud – which is certified and homologated by Sankhya – offers high availability and praises the service of the support team, defining it as excellent.

For Paysandu’s CEO, cloud computing is essential for working on all the club’s processes in a faster, more agile and more transparent way for employees, fans and supporters.
“The more technology we have, the more we’ll achieve our ultimate goal. In a short space of time, we’ve managed to understand the size of the club, the size of the passion that the fans have. By supporting the fans’ passion more and more, we’ll be able to succeed with them in all our decision-making,” says CEO André Barbosa Alves.
